Met office forecast more rains, flood alert issued in KPK

Meteorology Department predicted there is a chance of more monsoon rains in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa this week and there are more chances of monsoon rains in the province from tomorrow, August 2, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
The rains are likely to continue intermittently till August 7.
Following the prediction of heavy rains from the met office, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued an alert for the general public and the concerned public offices.
The PDMA director general warned that there is also fear of landslides in upper districts and to ensure the availability of small and heavy machinery by the district administration.
The DG informed that the possibility of increasing water flow in rivers and canals due to heavy rains in Swat, Kohistan, Bunir, Orakzai, Chitral, Mansehra, Shangla, Dir, Abbottabad, Khyber, Swabi, Peshawar and fear of urban flooding in low-lying areas due to rains.
The director general Instructed to district administrations to take precautionary measures in view of heavy rains and winds.
