PTI President Parvez Elahi arrested from Gulberg

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President and former Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has been arrested while trying to escape from Gulberg on Thursday.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the Anti-corruption team arrested Parvez Elahi with the help of local police as he was wanted in anti-corruption cases.
Chaudhry Parvaiz Ealhi's house located at Zahoor Elahi Raod in Gulberg, Lahore was blockaded for a few days.
The channel report said Pervazi Elahi was trying to escape from his residence in a bulletproof car but police stopped it.
Pervaiz Elahi locked the doors of the bulletproof car and denied to open it, resultantly, police broke the rear screen and arrested him after some resistance.
Court disposes of Ch Pervaiz Elahi’s bail plea
An accountability court (AC) in Gujranwala on Thursday disposed of former Punjab chief minister and PTI President Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi’s interim bail petition after he failed to appear in the court in connection with the hearing of two corruption cases, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The allegation against the PTI leader is that he received kickbacks in development projects.
CIA police hand over Elahi to Anti-Corruption team
CIA Iqbal Town police handed over Chaudhry Parvez Elahi to an anti-corruption team after his arrest from Gulberg.
According to the reports, Chaudhry Parvaiz Elahi was brought to Anti-Corruption Office by CIA DSP Muhammad Ali Butt.
The report said that a team of anti-corruption has started investigations from the former Chief Minister.
The spokesperson of Anti-Corruption said Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi had submitted a fake medical certificate in the court for bail.
Amir Mir confirms Elahi's arrest
Caretaker Information Minister Amir Mir confirmed the arrest of former Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and said Lahore police fully cooperated in the anti-corruption operation.
Amir Mir said Pervaiz Elahi was arrested when he was secretly moving in a car as he is an expert in hiding.
He said Pervaiz Elahi resisted during his arrest. He added that the area had been blockaded for several days, and if Pervaiz Elahi had not come out even today, he might not have been arrested.
