An old friend has turned approver against former Punjab chief minister and PTI leader Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi in a corruption case, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

Chaudhry Afgan Farooq, 25-year-old friend of Pervaiz Elahi, has recorded a statement in the Anti-Corruption Establishment spilling details of former Punjab CM’s corruption tails, especially relating to Old GT Road scandal.

He told the investigators “I am an old friend of Pervaiz Elahi and also has family terms with him. I witnessed when Rs50 million bribe was given to Pervaiz Elahi for the project’s contract. The remaining amount was promised on the release of Rs200 million as part of the Rs2 billion project.”

He further recalled “Sohail Awan and contractor Haji Tariq along with another person were present during the payment of the amount which was packed in five white sacks of urea.”

Afghan Farooq said Pervaiz Elahi got out all the currency from the sacks and got them counted. “Pervaiz Elahi placed the whole amount on the table in from of him when I came out of the room,” he added.
