Pakistan needs trade, not aid, says Bilawal during his Japan visit

Says we want Pakistan youth to get employment in Japan

Foreign Minister and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on his maiden visit to Japan has said that Pakistan needs trade and not aid, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Addressing Pakistani community in Tokyo on Sunday, Bilawal Bhutto maintained that the basic philosophy of Pakistan’s foreign policy has been that they want trade and not aid. “This is my first visit to Japan and the purpose of my visit is to promote trade between the two countries,” he added.

Bilawal told the audience that there has been immense potential in the IT sector of Pakistan and “Our population consists of 65 percent youth and we want Pakistani youth to get employment in Japan”.

Bilawal further said a large number of Pakistanis reside outside the country and the overseas Pakistanis are an asset of the country.

The foreign minister once again termed the May 9 riots as condemnable and regrettable.

Bilawal Bhutto also held meetings with Pakistani diaspora and executives from notable Japanese companies and discussed prospects for investment and trade with Pakistan.

In a tweet on social media platform, he said, “Reassuring to see Pakistan’s vibrant diaspora in Japan making its contribution to stronger ties between the two countries. Today I met with some of its representatives and exchanged thoughts on diversifying our bilateral ties with Japan particularly in business and trade.”

“During my visit to Japan, I also interacted with executives from notable Japanese companies at a reception. Encouraging to see the eagerness for unlocking potential of Pakistan and Japan in diverse fields including trade, agriculture, technology, education, skilled workforce, clean energy and disaster management,” he added.
