Punjab employees to get 65% of total salary as pension immediately on retirement

The Punjab Cabinet Friday approved several measures to provide relief to the public and government employees, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.

The 16th provincial cabinet meeting presided by Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi approved an amendment to the Punjab Civil Service Pension Rules.

The meeting approved that the provincial government employees will start getting 65 percent of the total salary as a pension soon after retirement till the completion of their documents and other processes..

The provincial cabinet also okayed introducing an axle load management regime to protect the roads from wear and tear.

The weight of big trawlers leaving the factories will be checked regularly and over-weight trawlers will not be allowed to run on the roads.

The cabinet also approved the amendment of the Motor Vehicle Rules, 1969 to ensure effective implementation of axle load management.

 On the occasion, Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi entrusted the responsibility of implementing the decision to the minister for industries SM Tanveer.

 Mohsin Naqvi ordered all the departments to deal with the promotion cases of government employees speedily.

It was decided in the meeting that special centres will be established for the rehabilitation of paralyzed patients in Lahore, Multan, Taunsa, Faisalabad, and Wah.
