Former Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has filed a bail petition in a Lahore court against a case of resistance and attack on the police during the cops’ raid at his house, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Monday.
PTI President Parvez Elahi's lawyer Asim Cheema Advocate filed the post-arrest bail application in an anti-terrorism court.
Judge Ijaz Ahmed Buttar heard Parvez Elahi's bail application.
The court issued notices to the prosecution for tomorrow (Tuesday0 on the bail application.
The court also asked the police for an investigation report.
In this case, Parvez Elahi's interim bail was rejected for non-appearance. Parvez Elahi could not appear before the court as he was present in another court in a different case.
Asim Cheema pleaded that the police registered a false case against Elahi to take political revenge.
He said that Ghalib Market Police leveled baseless allegations of assault.
The co-accused in the case have been granted bail, thus, Pervez Elahi should be granted post-arrest bail.
