CM Naqvi okays upgradation of Sufi saints’ shrines in Punjab

Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi on Monday approved the programme of phased renovation as well as expansion of shrines of Sufi saints in the province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In the first phase, the shrine of Hazrat Shah Shams Tabrez in Multan, of Hazrat Baba Bulle Shah in Kasur, of Baba Fariduddin Masood Ganj Shakar in Pakpattan and of Hazrat Syed Azizuddin Pir Makki in Lahore will be renovated as well as expanded.
The chief minister said that more and more facilities would be provided at these shrines for the visitors.
He also ordered the upgradation of langarkhanas (Mess Halls), libraries and washrooms at these shrines. “Start work on these projects at the earliest,” he ordered.
He also ordered early start to work on Lahore’s Data Darbar’s expansion project. “Similarly, the renovation and expansion of the shrine of Bibi Pakdaman should be completed before the start of the holy month of Muharram,” CM Naqvi directed.
Provincial Minister for Auqaf Azfar Ali Nasir, secretary auqaf, secretary construction and communications, renowned architect Nayyer Ali Dada and secretary coordination attended the meeting.
