Sindh govt removes 39 ‘negligent’ doctors from jobs

Taking notice of the presence of negligent doctors in the province, Sindh health department has issued show-cause notices to 507 such doctors, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Spokesman for the department said on the other hand, fearing action, 54 absentee doctors had resigned, while the services of 39 had been terminated after the issuance of final show-cause notices to them.

As many as 121 more doctors had been issued final show-cause notices, the spokesman informed.

He further said that action against doctors who remained absent from duties had begun so that government hospitals could be made functional again.

According to the spokesman, action was taken against such doctors between January 2022 and May 2023.

He elaborated that the department had sought legal opinion from the Services Department in order to give promotions to junior doctors so that they could replace those not interested in promotions and those found negligent in their duties.
