The anti-corruption department is tightening its screws around the bureaucrats, who were appointed on coveted posts by allegedly bribing Farah Gogi, friend of wife of the country’s ex-prime minister, Imran Khan, and Tahir Khurshid, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
Quoting its sources, the channel reported that the department had collected proofs against these government servants.
They disclosed that several senior officials, including former Lahore Development Authority (LDA) DG Ahmad Aziz Tarar, are now under the scanner.
They informed that LDA Director Sibtain Qureshi had already recorded his statement against Tarar in the mega scandal of plots.
Sources revealed that the department had also traced transactions of millions of rupees of these bureaucrats.
However, they added, several bureaucrats were reluctant to cooperate with the department in the investigations, and that there were chances that they would be arrested soon.
The department had also launched hunt for Farah’s personal assistant Asif, they said, adding because it was Asif through which these government officers would approach her for getting appointments on the posts of their choice.
