Cement sales get 57% boost

An increase of more than 57 percent was recorded in the overall sale of cement in July 2023, compared to July 2022 while exports registered a significant boost of 184 percent, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
According to a report released by Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association, a total of 57.44 percent increase in cement sales was recorded.
Total cement sales were over 3.2 million tonnes in July 2023 which was 2 million and 40 thousand tonnes in July 2022.
According to the report, the domestic sales of cement in July 2023 was 2.7 million and 76 thousand tonnes, which was 47.15 percent more in July 23 compared to 1.8 million and 87 thousand tonnes in July 2022.
Report further revealed, a significant increase of 183.91 percent was also seen in the export of cement in July 2023.
In July 2023, cement exports were 435854 tonnes, which was limited to 153517 tons in July last year.
All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association says that the establishment of a strong and stable government is indispensable for economic stability in the country.
It has also been said that the beginning of this financial year is a bit better. The provincial government increased the royalty from Rs115 to Rs250 per tonne.
The Association also said that the price of electricity has been increased by 7.5 rupees per unit and a recent raise of Rs 20 per liter in the price of diesel has affected the cost of freight.
