Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl chief Maulana Fazl ur Rehman has said it is the need of the hour to keep good relations with Afghanistan, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.

He was addressing the media after announcing the declaration of a peace jirga held in Peshawar on Friday regarding the Bajaur incident. The jirga has decided to take various steps for establishing durable peace in the region.

PDM chief said tribal grand jirga expresses grief over the incident in Bajaur.

He said that Jirga proposed an All-Party Conference in the present situation of the country. “Unity of all political parties is the need of the hour for establishing peace in the country,” he said.

He said that the Jirga directed action against those involved in police lines, and bara market-like incidents.

Maulana Fazal said Jirga expressed its reservations regarding the military operation results being conducted for the last many years.

He said that relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan should be improved.  “

“It was proposed to form a committee in the Jirga that would contact to Kabul government to stop those who are waging terrorism in Pakistan,” he said.

JUI chief said the jirga emphasized that facilities should be provided to the tribal people.

“The sense of deprivation of the tribal people should be ended,” he added.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that we have to admit that our past was written with our sacrifices and struggles and blood. “We are in a war and it will continue,” he added.

He said that Jirga welcomed the investment of China, Saudi and other countries in Pakistan.

PDM head lamented that communal riots were ignited in the Kurram agency and the state should play its role in preventing such riots.

Fazlur Rehman said it is evident that conspiracies against us were hatched by outsiders as well as by our own people.

Pakistan is being undermined through an international agenda, he added.

He said they are leaving the government on August 9 and the caretaker setup will take the next responsibility.
