Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to contest a no-confidence motion against Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) Chief Minister Khalid Khurshid and his disqualification, reported the 24newsHD TV channel.

PTI Chairman on Tuesday issued instructions to the parliamentary party of GB in this regard.

GB Chief Minister Khalid Khursheed was disqualified from holding public office by the chief court on Tuesday.

Khalid, who belongs to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, was disqualified in a fake degree case.

With his disqualification, the PTI government in GB stands dissolved as well.

However, PTI claims that it has a majority in the assembly and any attempt to rob the mandate of the people of GB will be vigorously resisted.

Khursheed had been in office since December 2020 and had been a close aide of the PTI chief. He had been especially visible around the former prime minister after the governments in Punjab and KP were dissolved.

A PTI spokesperson said that on the instruction of the PTI Chairman, a meeting of the parliamentary party has been called in Gilgit-Baltistan.

The members of the parliamentary party claimed that a comprehensive political and parliamentary strategy would be formulated in light of the instructions of the PTI Chairman.

The spokesperson said that the parliamentary party of PTI is prepared to counter the double invasion against the elected Chief Minister.

It will adopt a strong legal strategy after a deep review of the decision of Chief Minister Khalid Khurshid's disqualification.

In the context of the no-confidence motion in the GB Council, the planning and preparation will be finalized and submitted to Chairman Imran Khan for his approval.

The spokesperson further said that the parliamentary party of PTI will also complete the nomination process of the agreed candidate for the chief ministership.

With the official approval of the PTI Chairman, the candidate for the chief ministership will be announced.

The spokesperson said the massacre of the constitution and democracy is going on in Pakistan.

After shedding the blood of the majority governments in the federation and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, the operatives of the dictatorship have gone ahead to slaughter the people's mandate in Gilgit-Baltistan, said the PTI spokesperson.

The people of Gilgit-Baltistan will never accept fraud on their mandate.

PTI has a decisive majority in Gilgit-Baltistan, conspirators who want to turn it into a minority will fail, said the spokesperson.
