Dastgir lays foundation stone of 500/132 KV Grid Station in Faisalabad

Federal Minister for Energy Engineer Khurram Dastgir Khan laid the foundation stone of the 500/132 KV Grid Station of Allama Iqbal Industrial City near Sahianwala interchange, Faisalabad on Monday.

According to the 24News HD TV channel, this grid station will be built on an area of 22 acres with an estimated cost of 20.7 billion rupees.

Engineer Khurram Dastgir Khan said the grid station would help in improving power distribution in addition to overcoming electricity-related complaints.

He added that this mega project would also help in the development of textile, IT, Pharmaceutical, chemical, automotive and service sectors.

The minister said this project will ensure continuous voltage profile to two important projects of the CPEC, Allama Iqbal Industrial City and M3 Industrial City.

Minister Khurram Dastgir said this project will also meet the load demand of 600 MW and play an important role in strengthening the industries in the Special Economic Zone, which will create employment opportunities in the region.

The Asian Development Bank will financially support the completion of the project.
