A man was killed when the Havelian-bound train hit him near the Sarai Saleh of Haripur district, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Monday.

The eyewitnesses claimed that the man had committed suicide by deliberately laying on the track moments before the train came.

The body of the man was cut into several pieces. He was identified as Saeed son of Fazl Elahi, a resident of Sarai Saleh.

Family sources said Saeed had been disenchanted for the last several days because of joblessness.

As soon as the incident was reported, the team of Rescue 1122 and police immediately reached the spot.

They took the parts of the body into custody and shifted these to the trauma center for post-mortem.

A large number of people from the area are present on the spot.
