The coalition government has geared up the Digital Pakistan drive, Federal Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal said on Tuesday.

The allied government inherited the financial issues from the prevision regime, the minister said while addressing a press conference in the federal capital.

However, he vowed to overcome the economic crisis as soon as possible, saying the government has stepped up efforts to bring in the digital revolution.

A report said earlier that the minister laid stress on political stability too.

The country needed economic and political stability, and all the stakeholders should play their role in this regard, he said while talking to a private news channel.

The government will not take any undemocratic step to prolong its stay the minister maintained.

Free and fair elections will take place in October or November, he said, adding that the delay in the election did not make any sense.

The financial and political crises have been looming large. The coalition government took over after the ex-PM Imran Khan’s ouster through a no-confidence motion in April last.

The sitting government has been blaming the financial crisis on the previous regime while the former ruling party chief claimed that plans were being executed to bring in betterment.
