Independent candidate Uzair Sher has won the slot of Havelian tehsil chairman as he has secured 22,134 after a close contest against his PTI and PML-N opponents, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.

According to unofficial results, he secured 22134 votes after the results of all 134 polling stations while PTI candidate Iftikhar Khan secured 18567 votes while Malik Talha of Muslim League-N could achieve 15978 votes.

The seat fell vacant after the death of Atif Munsif who was murdered and Uzair Sher is said the deceased chairman's first cousin.  

Abbottabad’s Havelian tehsil consists of nine union councils and 34 village councils.

The total number of voters is 165,800 with 88,364 male voters and 77,436 female voters.

As many as 134 polling stations have been established and 34 of them have been declared sensitive.

As many as 2,071 cops have been deployed for polling duty.
