The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has decided to remove Imran Khan as the chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

Informed sources have said that the ECP will shortly make a formal announcement in this regard.

A file for removing the PTI chairman has been prepared and sent to the ECP.

It is to be noted here that the PTI chairman was arrested from his Zaman Park residence in Lahore on Saturday last, half an hour after a district and sessions court in Islamabad found him guilty and sentenced him to three years in prison and disqualified him from politics for five years in the Toshakhana criminal case.
