Federal Minister for Interior Affairs Rana Sanaullah Khan has said it is highly encouraging that the National Counter-Terrorism Authority (NACTA) has evolved into a fully functional organization, underscoring our commitment to countering terrorism and extremism, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

While chairing the 4th meeting of the Board of Governors of NACTA, the minister expressed satisfaction over NACTA’s fully functional capacity and performance in countering extremism and terrorism.

Federal Secretary Interior Syed Ali Murtaza, DG FIA Mohsin Butt, and members of the Board of Governors attended the meeting.

Various administrative and policy matters of the organization were extensively discussed in the meeting.

Addressing the members of the board, the minister urged the NACTA to evolve a clear and comprehensive policy to deal with the resurgence of terrorism in the country. “NACTA has to play a key role to support law enforcement agencies in defeating terrorism in the country,” he added.

The federal minister further said that terrorism can be defeated only on the basis of the determination of a nation.

“I hope that NECTA will spare no effort as a front-line organization in counter-terrorism and all provinces and other relevant organizations will follow this strategy, Interior Minister remarked, adding We will end terrorism and extremism on a permanent basis from the country.

Rana Sanaullah hoped that permanent peace and economic prosperity will return to the motherland with the blessing of Allah Almighty.

He also assured the authority of his full support in this regard.
