The Punjab Home Department has decided to install air conditioners in prison vans, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

The Home Department has made the prison vans upgradation plan a part of jail reforms, and it has also asked the police for a report on prison vans.

It has also decided to purchase new airconditioned prison vans and prepared a summary in this regard.

New seats and air conditioners will be installed in the existing prison vans. The budget for the purchase and upgradation of prison vans will be provided by the Finance Department.
