The federal government has appointed Rehmat Ali Hasnie as the new president of National Bank of Pakistan (NBP), reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

Rehmat Ali Hasnie has been associated with the NBP since 2010 and serving as the Acting President since May 2022.

Hasnie headed departments like Investment Banking and Corporate Banking.

He has over 25 years of experience in economic research, capital markets, investment banking, treasury and credit markets.

He has also served as a Nominee Director on the Boards of Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited, First National Bank Mudaraba, First Credit and Investment Bank, AgriTech Limited, Fuji Akbar Portia and Marine Terminal.
