Due to incomplete arrangements made by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), a gradual rise in incidents of birds hitting planes has been witnessed at several airports of the country, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

According to a report, 61 such incidents, involving Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and other airlines’ flights, were reported during the last six months.

There were 39 incidents in which PIA’s planes were involved, hence causing to the national flag carrier the loss of millions of dollars.

The report reveals that there were four incidents in which planes’ engines were badly damaged. “Most of these incidents were reported from Karachi airport,” it discloses.

Giving further details, the report tells that 19 times birds hit planes over Karachi airport in the last six months; 17 times over Lahore airport and five times over Islamabad airport.
