Customs officers disappear after stealing ‘seized’ drugs

Narcotics worth millions of rupees have allegedly been stolen from the store room of Pakistan Customs located at Kemari area of Karachi during the Eid holidays, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

Sources told 24News TV channel that two senior officials of the Customs’ Anti-Smuggling Organization namely Superintendent Tariq Mehmood and Superintendent Yawar Abbas had also gone missing.

And though their cellphones were not switched off, but they were not receiving calls since 3:00 PM yesterday afternoon, they said, and added the officials might be in the custody of an investigation team. 

Elaborating further, they said that the stolen items were ice, Heroin, cocaine and Chars. 

Spokesman for the Customs, however, refused to give his department’s version of the events.

Sources told 24News TV channel that families of the missing officials had contacted police.
