Govt identifies 500 UK-based Pakistanis involved in May 9 incidents

The government has decided to extend the investigation into the May 9 incidents to expatriate Pakistanis and more than 500 UK-based Pakistanis have been identified.

According to the 24News HD TV channel, the sources said action will be taken against all immigrants who will be found involved in anti-state propaganda, inciting, abetting or facilitating (physically, morally or financially) the May 9 incidents.

The sources said the data of more than 500 Pakistanis has been collected from the UK and the phone calls record, social media activity, travel history, financial transactions, immigration status and other relevant data are analysed.

The sources said it has also come to the notice of the Pakistani authorities that some of these ringleaders have the backing and financial support of foreign intelligence agencies and all such persons will be made part of the investigation whenever they come to Pakistan.

The government will initiate criminal proceedings against all those involved and the foreign governments will also be approached to extradite criminals.

Their legal status in host countries, entry procedures and pending dual citizenship applications will also be processed while the fraudulent methods used to obtain foreign citizenship will also be investigated and their host countries will be informed.
