Unknown persons attacked a polio team injuring a police official on Miran Road in Bannu on Wednesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to police, some unknown people attacked a polio team in Bannu in which police official Kamran who was performing security duty got hurt.

The injured cop was shifted to the DHQ Hospital.

Police said that the incident occurred near Akhund Khel Pump. They said the assailants managed to flee after the attack.

Yesterday, the government failed to woo the tribal elders who banned the entry of polio workers in two parts of Bannu city namely Khudri Momand Khel and Seerhi Baka Khel.

The elders even formed a 30-member Lashkar, headed by Malik Amin Feroze, to ensure that no polio worker could enter these two localities.
