Two youths drowned to death while taking a bath in the Chenab River in Qadirabad police station's limits of Phalia tehsil, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Friday.  

Both belonged to the village Kalan Shadian, located on the banks of river Chenab in Phalia tehsil of Mandi Bahauddin district.

The youths were identified as 13-year-old Ahmad Yar and 12-year-old Usman who were friends and had gone to bathe in the river due to extreme heat. However, they slipped into deep water and drowned to death.

As soon as the incident was reported, the team of Rescue 1122 reached the spot and after about two hours of effort, the bodies of the two boys were taken out and handed over to the heirs.
