Centre allocates billions of rupees for Karachi projects

 The federal government has allocated billions of rupees for the ongoing and new projects in the port city of Karachi in the budget, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Friday.

A sum of Rs2.5b has been allocated for the maintenance and construction of roads in Site Industrial Estate, more than Rs1 billion for Green Line Karachi and over Rs1b for the upgradation project of AEMC in Karachi.

A total of Rs750 million is allocated for infrastructure maintenance in Karachi West District, Rs750 for infrastructure maintenance in Nazimabad and Liaquatabad, and Rs750 for roads, water, drainage, and playground in Landi, Zaman and Korangi.

The government has allocated Rs150 million for roads, streets, and drainage projects in Korangi district, Rs150m for projects under the federal budget in East Karachi district, Rs150m for KMC projects in South and West districts and Rs160m for the establishment of an IT park in Karachi.

A sum of Rs150m has been allocated for the projects of various union councils while Rs9.94m for the construction of the Pak-Asian Football Ground in Central District and Rs46.4 for the construction of a computer institute in Central District and Rs57.7m for the construction of cricket stadium.
