Next govt can bring in new budget: Ministers

Minister of State for Finance Ayesha Ghous Pasha has said that it would be the discretion of the next government whether to amend the federal budget 2023-24 presented today, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Talking to newsmen at Parliament House on Friday, Ayesha Pasha said it’s a constitutional obligation for the incumbent government to present federal budget by June 30. “The government which will take office after us can amend this budget or bring in its own budget or mini-budget,” she added.

Absence of Opposition unfortunate: Qamar

Trade Minister Naveed Qamar told newsmen that how can they conduct trade unless we support and promote our own industry. “Absence of Opposition during budget session would be unfortunate,” he added.

Khurshid Shah proposes 40% rise in salaries

Federal Minister Khurshid Shah said that they had proposed 40 percent rise in the salaries of the government employees. “The situation out there is tough and the common man should be given relief,” he added.

The minister, however, maintained that there would be good news for farmers and employees.

Keep an eye on govt economic vision: Marriyum

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Auranzeb said that the public will witness what economic vision is after the presentation of the federal budget today. “Last four years were a nightmare which will now be transformed into development,” she added.

The minister said there is a good news for the government employees in the budget. “The masses will sees major relief package for agriculture, business and youth,” she added.

Relief will not be as per situation: Kh Asif

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said they risked their politics in order to arrest the situation from further deterioration.

When asked about this year’s defence budget, he said there is no compromise on defence spending.

The minister said there would be relief for the common man. “The relief for public may not be as per the situation demands,” he added.
