Two youths who went fishing from the river in the neighbouring border village of Chunian have drowned in River Sutlej, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

According to rescue officials, both young men drowned when they went into deep water for fishing in the river Sutlej near Athar Singhwala.

Rescue officials said 22-year-old Ahsan and 18-year-old Mohsin were among those who drowned. Both the youths belong to Kot Piran.

Rescue 1122 retrieved the bodies of the two drowned youths and handed them over to their families.
