Police claimed to have nailed a groom, his accomplices and Nikkah Khwan over child marriage in a Sindh district, 24NewHD TV channel reported on Thursday.

Acting upon a tip-off, the local police conducted a raid at an Umerkot village where Yasin's wedding ceremony was going on.

According to police, Yasin, his two accomplices and Nikkah Khwan were arrested.

The teen girl, identified as Ayesha Pathan, has no CNIC, the police said, adding that the arrested were presented before the court.

Police took remand of the accused while the court sent the girl to a safe house for one day. Further proceedings will resume tomorrow.
