Pakistani rupee slightly down against US dollar in interbank

The Pakistani rupee shed marginally against the US dollar in the interbank trading on Thursday as the country is passing through a political transition, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to the State Bank of Pakistan, the local currency depreciated by 14 paisas against the greenback and ended the day at Rs287.60.

On Wednesday, the Pakistani rupee saw slight improvement against the US dollar and appreciated 0.16% to settle at Rs287.46.

In a key development, the Senate Standing Committee on Finance had held that targeted Letters of Credit (LCs) is discriminating against the manufacturers and directed the SBP to provide a level-playing field to all the stakeholders.
The committee has shown displeasure over the delay and interference in the opening of LCs.
