In a significant breakthrough, law enforcement authorities in Islamabad have successfully dismantled a major transnational human trafficking network, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Thursday.

The operation led to the apprehension of the key suspect, Naseeb Shah, who was allegedly involved in trafficking citizens to Myanmar. The arrest was carried out by a dedicated team under the leadership of Investigating Officer Muhammad Waseem, culminating in the detention of Naseeb Shah in Mansehra.

Investigations reveal that Naseeb Shah orchestrated an elaborate scheme, extracting substantial sums of money from various citizens abroad under the pretence of facilitating their relocation to Thailand. Once in Thailand, victims were covertly transported to Myanmar, aided by a network of accomplices who colluded in the criminal enterprise.

Shocking details have emerged about the harrowing experiences endured by the victims. Reports indicate that the trafficked individuals were subjected to severe physical violence while in Myanmar, with some even falling victim to abduction. The accused did not stop exploiting the victims physically; he also coerced them into producing distressing videos, which were then sent to their helpless relatives as extortion.

The victims' families were allegedly coerced into paying exorbitant ransoms, often amounting to $5,000, to secure the safe release of their loved ones. Upon receiving the ransom money, the victims were eventually released from captivity. The ill-gotten funds were then funnelled abroad through illicit channels to cover the tracks of the criminal operation.

Naseeb Shah's apprehension was made possible through the identification of a previously arrested accomplice, underscoring the significance of coordinated law enforcement efforts. Authorities are actively pursuing leads to apprehend other individuals implicated in this sinister network.

A case has been formally registered against Naseeb Shah, signalling the commencement of legal proceedings.
