SBP’s surplus profit registers record increase in last one year

A record increase in the State Bank of Pakistan’s (SBP) surplus profit has been witnessed during the last one year, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

As per the documents of the Ministry of Finance available with the 24News TV channel, the bank’s profit, after a massive increase by Rs600 billion during the last year, crossed the Rs972 billion mark at the start of the financial year (FY), 2024-25.

In the FY, 2023-24, the profit stood at over Rs371 billion.

The documents show that in the non-tax revenue, which presently stands at Rs3,184 billion, the petroleum levy has the greatest share, which stands at Rs1,19 billion.
