Govt starts process to hire new Nepra chairman

The federal government has started the process to hire the chairman of the National Electronic Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra), reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

After the approval of the Federal Cabinet, the post of the Nepra chairman has been advertised in newspapers.

Applications have been sought from the candidates within 15 days.

The upper age limit for the Nepra chairman has been set at 59 years. Pakistani citizens will be eligible to apply.

The appointment of the Nepra chairman will be for four years under the MP-1 scale.

The tenure of current Nepra Chairman Tauseef H. Farooqi is going to end in August next month.
