A number of women teachers were arrested Monday for violating Section 144 in Mirpur city of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The AJK government, on the orders of the AJK prime minister, had banned protests by the teachers’ organisation.

The violators of Section 144 will be prosecuted and punished.

The female teachers were planning to hold a protest march in support of their demands.
