Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Intelligence Wing has arrested two railway employees for smuggling weapons during an operation at Karachi Cantt Station on Wednesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to CTD in-charge Raja Umer Khatab, the accused had illegally brought weapons from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

An SMG and a pistol were recovered from the possession of the accused. The arrested accused included Sanaullah and Gul Islam.

The job of railway police is to bring and deliver weapons after legal requirements.

In-charge CTD said that exported weapons were brought to Karachi for money and arrested accused took the wrong advantage of their being a railway employee.

The accused were given the weapons by the dealer of the weapons in the KP.

Railway authorities have been informed about the arrest of the accused, Raja Umar Khattab said.
