A man axed to death his 16-year-old daughter over a money dispute in the Haripur district reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

According to the son of the accused, he was unemployed and caught in depression due to inflation.

He added as her sister demanded money for the purchase of sugar and tealeaf, his father fell in a rage and took the extreme step.

Local police reached the spot but the accused escaped. The lawmen shifted the body to a hospital.

A case has been registered and a hunt for the accused is on.
