Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Governor Haji Ghulam Ali Friday accepted the resignations of the caretaker cabinet.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the KP administration department sent a summary of the resignations of the caretaker cabinet to the governor for approval yesterday.
The members of the KP caretaker cabinet were asked to resign after allegations of political affiliation and the governor now gave approval of the summary of their resignations.
The administration department initially sent the resignation summary of 14 caretaker ministers and then sent another summary of 11 advisers and special assistants to the governor.
Yesterday, Caretaker Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Azam Khan called for the resignation of the entire cabinet as this development comes after the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) urged the Chief Minister to eliminate ministers with political affiliations from the cabinet.
In response to the call, cabinet members submitted their resignations to the Caretaker Chief Minister. This decision highlights a concerted effort to ensure a transparent and impartial electoral process.
This process underscores a pivotal shift in the region's political landscape, aiming to curtail undue political influence within the government.
The Election Commission's directive to remove ministers with political connections is a step towards fostering a level playing field for the upcoming elections.
