The core committee of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) convened for a crucial session, addressing a range of pressing issues and asserting its stance on matters of national significance, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The committee came together to condemn what it refers to as continuous revenge and mistreatment against Chairman Imran Khan during his imprisonment. Strong words were voiced against the confinement of the PTI Chairman in Attock Jail, drawing attention to concerns over his safety and health.
The committee expressed solidarity with Chairman Imran Khan, strongly condemning the ongoing series of perceived vendettas and urging a fair and expedited hearing of his bail application. The apparent delay in the application's consideration post the trial was completed was characterized as a concerning blight on the justice system, sparking questions about its efficacy.
Amid fears for Chairman Imran Khan's well-being, the PTI core committee called for his immediate transfer from Attock Jail to Adiala Jail. This demand was accompanied by a plea for the Chairman's right to order food and water from home, a move aimed at ensuring his health and safety.
Turning their focus to the upcoming Independence Day celebrations on August 14, the committee expressed frustration at what it sees as governmental interference in PTI's preparations. The party decried reported police actions targeting PTI workers and leaders involved in arranging festivities, and the unannounced ban on PTI flag display and sale nationwide. Despite these challenges, the committee instructed its members to celebrate the occasion peacefully and grandly, all while remaining vigilant against potential disruptions.
The core committee voiced deep concern over the escalating incidents of terrorism within the nation, urging the state machinery to prioritize countering terrorism over targeting political opponents. It called for safeguarding the hard-won peace achieved at the cost of over 80,000 lives and significant financial resources.
Commenting on recent legal developments, the PTI core committee praised the Supreme Court's decision on the "Supreme Court Review of Judgment Act," hailing it as a deterrent against efforts to manipulate the constitutional framework and distort the state order. The committee held that the notion of sheltering corrupt individuals under the law had been defeated.
Furthermore, the committee addressed the political landscape, asserting that convicted fugitive Nawaz Sharif's prospects in domestic politics appeared bleak. It applauded the Supreme Court for safeguarding the right to vote and called for transparent and timely national elections while urging swift decisions on amendments to the NAB Law.
As the meeting concluded, the PTI core committee reiterated its commitment to upholding the principles of justice, democracy, and national progress. The committee's deliberations underscored its determination to navigate challenges while striving to ensure a just and prosperous Pakistan.
