Wounded Pakistan Army lieutenant embraces martyrdom

Lt Uzair Mehmood Malik, who was under treatment at Peshawar’s Combined Military Hospital (CMH) after he was injured during an exchange of fire with militants in Tirah Valley of district Khyber on August 9, succumbed to his injuries on Sunday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

In a statement, the ISPR said the deceased, who was 24 years and eight months old, and belonged to district Attock, fought bravely as he led his troops from the front and sent four militants to ‘hell’.  

“However, he also received serious injuries following which he was rushed to the CMH,” the ISPR said.

The deceased left behind parents and brothers and sisters to mourn his death, read the statement.  

Late Uzair, the ISPR informed, served in the army for three years and seven months.

It said that the security forces were determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country and such sacrifices by brave officers and soldiers would further strengthen the forces’ resolve to take on militants.
