A court in Lahore on Tuesday accepted the post-arrest bail application of former Punjab chief minister and PTI President Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi in a money laundering case, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The court ordered Ch Pervaiz to deposit a surety bond of Rs500,000.

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had registered a case against the former Punjab chief minister. 

Dr Yasmin Rashid’s judicial remand

An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore on Tuesday extended the judicial remand of PTI stalwart Dr. Yasmin Rashid in May 9 violence case for another 13 days, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

The court ordered the police to now produce the PTI leader on July 24.

Dr. Yasmin is facing allegations of setting police vehicles at Lahore’s Rahat Bakery Chowk on fire besides thrashing policemen.  

Thousands of people took to streets in several cities of the country to register their protest over the arrest of former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan in Islamabad on May 9.

They went berserk, vandalized government and even military installations besides damaging and setting memorials of the Pakistan Army’s martyrs on fire.
