The price of meters used for connection to the solar system in Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) has increased significantly, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
According to sources, the price of Advance Metering Infrastructure (AMI) meter increased from Rs43,000 to Rs65,000.
Earlier, Lesco was selling AMI meters to consumers at Rs43,000.
Due to the sudden ban, the prices of meters in the market increased, sources said.
However, Lesco started issuing NOC for purchase of AMI meters.
Earlier, consumers were allowed to buy from the market as the stock of green meter was exhausted.
Lesco has suddenly banned the installation of green bi-directional meters and the ban was implemented in all offices from July 1.
