Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali Shah on Saturday expressed the hope that soon consensus would develop on the caretaker CM'> appointment of caretaker CM of the province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Addressing a press conference in Karachi, he said he was the province’s chief executive until caretaker CM took over.  

Expressing satisfaction that the Sindh Assembly completed its five-year term, CM Murad said that the last five years of his government were the most difficult ones. “However, with the cooperation of the party’s leadership, especially the party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, my government was able to surmount these challenges,” he added.

The chief minister boasted that out of all four provincial assemblies, it was the Sindh Assembly which passed most of the bills during the last five years.

“The last government of PTI created lots of problems for the Sindh government,” he said, adding, “The attitude of the last opposition in the assembly was not cooperative either. Some dirty fish spoiled the environment of the entire House.”

He also accused the PTI government of creating obstacles in the way of the provincial government. “Imran Khan-led government did not want us to function,” he said, adding, “However, relations between the Center and the province improved once Shehbaz Sharif became the prime minister.”

“It was for the first time in the country’s history that a prime minister was shown the door through a vote of no-trust,” he reiterated.

CM Murad claimed that former prime minister Imran Khan used to stay in the port city for a few minutes.

He went on to say that during the coronavirus and floods, his government worked 24/7. “We acted upon the doctors’ advice to stop spread of the pandemic,” he added.

On the other hand, Opposition Leader in the Sindh Assembly Raana Ansaar called on Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah.

Both congratulated each other on the completion of term of the provincial assembly, and discussed the formation of caretaker setup in the province.

Both agreed to meet again tomorrow (Sunday).
