Panjgur DC killed, MPA’s brother injured in gun attack

Panjgur deputy commissioner was killed and an MPA's brother was injured in a gun attack in Mastung.

According to 24NewsHD TV channel, Deputy Commissioner Zakir Baloch was shot in the back and died in hospital.

Security has been augmented around the hospital where the injured including MPA Rehmat Baloch's brother Malik Jan were under treatment.

Police have launched a hunt for the shooters.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi strongly condemned the gun attack.

In a statement, the prime minister expressed grief over the death of the Deputy Commissioner and prayed the Almighty may rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss with fortitude.

He also prayed for the early recovery of the injured and directed officials to provide the best medical treatment to them.

He said the persons involved in the attack would be given exemplary punishment.

He said the officers of district administration perform their duties despite threats to their lives.

The interior minister also paid tribute to the deputy commissioner and vowed to bring to book the culprits.
