CM Naqvi turns to focus on making Punjab villages clean

Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi has announced to launch of a campaign for cleanliness across the province titled "Ab Gaon Chamkain Gay" under which cleanliness will be ensured at every union level in Punjab.

 A meeting to review the proposals for the implementation of the project "Now villages will shine" was held here on Monday. Punjab Chief Minister presided over the meeting.

Mohsin Naqvi directed the authorities to devise a sustainable system of sanitation in villages on the pattern of cities.

Naqvi also stressed measures to ensure the supply of clean water and other facilities in rural areas.  “A proper sanitation system will be established at ward level in union councils in Punjab,” he added.

He further said that cleanliness was not only a need for all of us but also a religious obligation, so it was the responsibility of all of us to keep the environment around our home and office clean.

He further said sanitary workers in each village will carry out sanitation work and garbage will be transported out of the village by rickshaws and tractor trolleys.

The CM also said that the Chowkidar system will also be introduced in every union council. “A watchman will be appointed in each ward of the Union Council,” he added.

Provincial Information Minister Aamir Mir, Senior Member of Board of Revenue, Secretary Finance, Secretary Local Government, and concerned officials attended the meeting.
