Zardari, Shehbaz greet Hindus on Diwali eve

Former President Asif Zardari and ex-prime minister Shehbaz Sharif have extended good wishes to the Hindu community on the happy occasion of Diwali, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

In his massage released on Sunday, Asif Zardari said that Hindu community living in across the world is celebrating its traditional festival Diwali and the Constitution of Pakistan gives all citizens the right to religious freedom.

He said that Pakistan People's Party has always taken care of the rights of its non-Muslim citizens.

PML-N President and former prime minister Shehbaz Sharif also extended Happy Diwali wishes to Hindu community. “The main message of Diwali is the victory of good over evil. We all have to work together to eliminate evil and promote good from the society and the world. Minorities have an unforgettable role in the establishment and development of Pakistan. The Fathers of the Nation renew their pledge to protect and promote the rights of minorities in the light of the edicts of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.”
