Countrywide lockdown against arrest of religious party chief

Followers of a religious party took to the streets across the country against the arrest of their party head on Monday.
The protesters came out of their homes and seminaries as soon as the news of the arrest was aired.
The demonstrators blocked the highways and major roads in the major city of the country.
In Karachi, II Chundrigar Road, MA Jinnah Chowrangi, Numaish, Malir, Baldia Town and Hassan Square were blocked.
Long queues of motorists were seen from Tower to Governor House in the Sindh capital.

The situation in Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Liaquat Bagh, Sialkot, Multan, Faisalabad and other big cities was not so different.
In Lahore, Multan Road, entry and exit points, Shahdara and more than 30 points from Lahore to Islamabad Motorway were gridlocked.
