Budding young actress Amar Khan took to her Instagram to pay tribute to the legendary songwriter Shakeel Sohail, who breathed his last the other day.

Behind some of the most amazing hits in the Pakistani cinema, Shakeel Sohail had also written two songs for Amar Khan’s upcoming debut movie, ‘Dum Mastam,’ written by the actress herself.

The actress penned down a heartfelt note on his death, as she shared a selection of hit songs written by Sohail and requested everyone else to recite a prayer for him.

Taking to Instagram, she wrote: “Shakeel Sohail, One of the finest Film Song Lyricist from Pakistan passed away yesterday. All the major blockbuster songs off late were by him. In fact he penned 2 songs for #dummastam as well. Unfortunately, in Pakistan, we aren’t aware of our own rare gems. I was personally a huge fan of his selection of cinematic lyrics and its tonality. Just shared a few of his hits. What a loss. Please recite a prayer for him. RIP legend!” wrote the actress in her post.

Shakeel Sohail was also the lyricist for many recent major Lollywood hits, as Khan had mentioned in her post.

Along with many others, Amar Khan also revealed she was a huge fan of the late songwriter and referred him as a rare gem of the entertainment industry.
