A 74-year-old woman died after falling from a cable car in the Bagnotar area of Abbottabad district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Wednesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to police, the woman fell while de-boarding the lift.

She was shifted to a hospital in critical condition where she died. The police arrested the cable car operator.

“Despite the government’s orders, the district administration did not check the cable car,” police said.

However, the family of the deceased woman refused to take any legal action against the cable car operator.

It is to be noted here that eight people, including seven schoolchildren and a teacher, were stuck mid-air in a cable car after one of its cables broke in Allai tehsil, Battagram district, KP, the previous month. All the stranded people were later rescued.
