A massive terrorist attack by dozens of Khawarji militants on a police checkpost in Taunsa city of Punjab was foiled on Thursday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Usman Anwar, about 50 to 60 Khawarji terrorists attacked the Lakhani border checkpost of Wahwa Police Station but their plan was thwarted by the alert cops.

The police jawans used machine and mortar guns and forced the terrorists to flee.

The policemen were able to identify the terrorists with the help of thermal image cameras.
