Allama Sheikh Raja Nasir Abbas has been elected Chairman of the Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) on Sunday.

According to the 24News HD TV channel, Agha Salahuddin announced the name of the winning candidate for the chairmanship of the party.

The channel report said that Raja Nasir Abbas will be the MWM Chairman for the next three years.

Four new members of the MWM Executive Council including Maulana Sheikh Nayyar Abbas Mostafavi, Maulana Syed Imtiaz Ali Rizvi, Maulana Sheikh Abdul Khaliq Saadi, and Maulana Mukhtar Ahmad Amami while three other members including Zahid Ali Khan, Nisar Ali Faizi and Syed Qasim Raza Bangash were elected.

It is worth mentioning that some leaders of other parties were also present at the announcement ceremony of the MWM’s intra-party election results.

Ziaullah Bukhari of Jamaat-e-Islami, Ahle-Hadith Shura and Sahibzada Abul Khair of Milli Yekjahti Council also participated in the ceremony and congratulated Allama Nasir Abbas for winning the elections.

In the MWM intra-party elections, all the district office-bearers from across the country participated in the election process in Islamabad.
